Funding aims to support local organisations addressing community needs

The Greggs Foundation has announced a Community Grants programme that will provide funding of up to £20,000 per year for three years to not-for-profit organisations operating in specific locations, including the LS7 area of Leeds. The initiative is designed to support community groups in delivering essential services and tackling local challenges.

Grant details and eligibility criteria

The grants are intended to cover core costs such as rental expenses and salaries, enabling organisations to maintain and expand their work within the community. The programme focuses on supporting groups that work to:

  • Address needs within the local community
  • Provide food and support for individuals
  • Reduce social isolation and widen networks
  • Build knowledge, confidence, and opportunities

To be eligible, organisations must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a not-for-profit entity, such as a charity or community interest company (CIC)
  • Have an annual income between £25,000 and £1 million
  • Hold less than six months’ running costs in reserve
  • Have at least one year’s financial accounts filed with the Charity Commission or Companies House
  • Have at least three directors and/or trustees

The deadline for applications is noon on 14 November. Interested organisations are advised to consult the Greggs Foundation website for full eligibility details and application procedures.

Supporting stronger, healthier communities

The Greggs Foundation’s Community Grants programme recognises the vital role that local organisations play in building resilient communities. By funding core operational costs, the Foundation aims to help groups continue their work in reducing social isolation, providing essential support, and creating opportunities for local residents.
