Minoti Parikh to lead Third Sector Leeds in new role

Third Sector Leeds (TSL) has announced the appointment of Minoti Parikh as the new Chair of its Leadership Group, effective from the start of the new year. This leadership change follows the departure of former Chair Kim Groves, who was acknowledged for her significant contributions to the organisation.

Background and experience of the new Chair

Minoti Parikh is a Leeds-based social entrepreneur, consultant, and non-executive director with over seventeen years of experience working internationally across community organisations, local authorities, health partners, funders, and the public and private sectors. Her expertise includes infrastructure and leadership development, stakeholder engagement, and delivering impact-driven initiatives.

Parikh currently works with TPL Experiences, a values-led consultancy, and serves as a trustee, advisor, and community artist. Through these roles, she has supported more than 200 organisations in strengthening governance, fostering inclusive cultures, and creating programmes aimed at delivering tangible outcomes for communities.

Leadership approach and sector insight

Known for a warm and collaborative leadership style, Parikh has a strong record of connecting people around shared purposes and translating diverse insights into strategic actions. Her experience spans working with grassroots groups as well as large institutions, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and strengths within the third sector.

Statement from Minoti Parikh

In a statement, Parikh said she felt honoured to take on the role of Chair at Third Sector Leeds. She highlighted the sector’s breadth, impact, and resilience, noting it comprises over 3,300 organisations and more than 40,000 volunteers, employees, and trustees in Leeds. She expressed her commitment to advocating for the sector and working with the Leadership Group, members, and partners to enhance TSL’s influence and impact across the city.

Role and future focus

As Chair, Parikh will support the Leadership Group in guiding TSL’s vision, maintaining its independence, and championing the sector in key strategic discussions in Leeds. These include areas such as health and wellbeing, inclusive growth, and community resilience.
