£180,000 Fund Supports Youth Projects in Leeds and Bradford

New funding aims to assist vulnerable young people across the region

Leeds Community Foundation has announced an investment of £180,000 in six community organisations based in Leeds and Bradford. This funding, provided through a partnership with the Bartlett Foundation, is intended to support initiatives addressing the challenges faced by young people in vulnerable circumstances.

The Bartlett Group Fund offers flexible financial support, allowing recipient organisations to allocate funds according to their specific needs. This may include funding particular projects, enhancing organisational capacity and resilience, or covering core operational costs.

Focus Areas and Funded Activities

The funding supports a range of activities, including:

  • Enhancing the sustainability of services for young people who have experienced child sexual exploitation.
  • Launching a pilot education project offering short courses to Gypsy and Traveller young people on subjects related to potential future careers.
  • Developing programmes to upskill practitioners and volunteers, improving accessibility for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.

Funding Duration and Future Plans

Each organisation has been awarded funding for a period of two to three years, enabling longer-term delivery and development of their projects. Leeds Community Foundation has expressed an intention to monitor and share the outcomes and impact of these grants as the projects progress.
