February 9, 2026Local college recognised for its apprenticeship programmes
Leeds College of Building (LCB) has been nominated in two categories at the upcoming Apprenticeship Guide Awards. The college is shortlisted for both the Best College for Apprenticeships Award and the Leadership in Apprenticeships Award.
About the Apprenticeship Guide Awards
The Apprenticeship Guide Awards have been recognising employers and training providers who support apprentices for nearly two decades. The Apprenticeship Guide itself serves as a comprehensive resource for apprenticeship opportunities across the UK, advertising roles in both the private and public sectors. It is widely used in schools and colleges nationwide and categorises apprenticeships according to industry sectors, reflecting the current jobs market.
LCB’s recognition and response
LCB Principal and CEO Nikki Davis commented on the nominations, stating that the recognition is an honour for the college. She noted that LCB is currently the reigning Construction Apprenticeship College of the Year and highlighted the college’s focus on construction and built environment apprenticeships.
The timing of the nominations coincides with National Apprenticeship Week, which Ms Davis described as making the recognition even more meaningful. She also expressed gratitude to the Apprenticeship Guide Awards for the acknowledgement.
