Leeds Digital Inclusion Fund Supports 11 Local Groups

Nearly £100,000 has been allocated to 11 community organisations in Leeds through the Leeds Digital Inclusion Fund. The funding aims to help these groups embed digital inclusion into their work and support local people in developing the skills and confidence needed to engage online.

Planned activities
The funded organisations will use the grants to build capacity and integrate digital support sustainably into their core activities. Key initiatives include:
- Investing in equipment and sessional staff to provide ongoing digital assistance.
- Delivering workshops and one-to-one support to help individuals develop essential digital skills, which can support education, employment, reduce social isolation, and strengthen community connections.
- Establishing drop-in and digital support hubs where people can receive help using devices such as phones and laptops, and access digital services related to banking, benefits, and healthcare.
Additional support and funding background
Alongside the financial support, the organisations will receive guidance from Leeds City Council’s 100% Digital Leeds team throughout their activities. The Leeds Digital Inclusion Fund is financed through funds raised at the Leeds Digital Ball, an annual event that brings together the city’s digital and technology sector to address issues related to the digital divide.
