New Leadership Training Programmes for Adult Social Care Managers

Leeds City Council launches Skills for Care leadership courses

Leeds City Council is offering a series of nationally recognised leadership training programmes aimed at managers, supervisors, and aspiring leaders working in adult social care. The courses are designed to enhance leadership skills, promote reflective learning, and support the delivery of high-quality care services.

Overview of the training opportunities

The training includes six distinct programmes and modules, divided into multi-day leadership courses and one-day continuing professional development (CPD) sessions:

  • Leadership Programmes (multi-day):
    • Lead to Succeed
    • Leading Change
    • Improving Care
    • Well-Led
  • One-day CPD Modules:
    • Understanding Self-Management
    • Understanding Performance Management
    • Understanding Workplace Culture

Funding and delivery options

Participants may be eligible for funding through the Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS), which can cover the full cost of the training. Further information about LDSS funding is available via the LDSS Quick Guide.

All courses are delivered by Leeds City Council as a Quality Assured Care Learning Service provider. Training sessions will take place at a city centre venue, with options for bespoke in-house training available for teams of 10 or more staff members.

Booking and start dates
