April 1, 2026Significant investment made to improve paediatric care
Leeds Children’s Hospital, one of the largest specialist children’s hospitals in the UK, has received substantial funding to enhance the care and experience of its young patients. According to Leeds Hospitals Charity, £3.79 million was awarded during the 2022/23 period to support a range of projects aimed at improving paediatric services.
Focus areas for funding
The funding was directed towards six priority areas identified by Leeds Hospitals Charity, with projects varying in size and scope. These initiatives include:
- Provision of specialist staff roles to develop new services
- Distribution of activity packs, such as Halloween craft kits, to support patient wellbeing
- Investment in life-saving equipment and treatments
All projects are designed to enhance the treatment and overall experience of children receiving care at the hospital.
Role of donations and legacy gifts
The charity highlights the importance of donations and gifts left in wills in funding these improvements. Such contributions help Leeds Children’s Hospital maintain and develop services that make a tangible difference to patients and their families.
