Active Ageing Grants Now Available in Leeds

Funding to Support Community Projects for Older People

Leeds has launched a new grant programme aimed at promoting healthy and active ageing within the city. The Active Ageing grant scheme is designed to support third-sector organisations in developing sustainable, community-based initiatives that encourage older adults to stay active.

Grant Details and Eligibility

The programme is funded by Leeds Public Health and Active Leeds and is led by the Leeds Older People’s Forum (LOPF). A total of £100,000 is available, divided into two separate grant pots of £50,000 each. Organisations can apply for funding ranging from £500 up to £20,000 and are eligible to apply for both grant pots.

  • Application opening date: Friday, 8 May 2026
  • Application closing date: 5 pm, Friday, 29 May 2026
  • Grant duration: 12 months
  • Funding must be spent by: 30 June 2027
  • End-of-grant monitoring report deadline: On or before 31 July 2027

Application Process

Applications can be submitted online via the Leeds Older People’s Forum grant application form. Alternatively, applicants may download the form, complete it electronically or by hand, and email it to grants@opforum.org.uk. Paper application packs can also be requested by phone or email for those who require accessible formats such as large print.
