Leeds Therapy Hub Offers Mental Health Support Services
September 17, 2026New local initiative provides therapeutic and peer support programmes
Leeds Therapy Hub CIC, a community interest company based in West Yorkshire, has launched a range of mental health and wellbeing services aimed at supporting children, adults, parents, and carers. The organisation focuses on providing accessible and trauma-informed support to individuals before they reach crisis points, drawing on the lived experience of its team members, many of whom are neurodivergent or have personal experience with mental health challenges.
Services for children
The hub offers Play and Creative Arts Therapy for children and young people aged 5 to 16. This evidence-based approach, inspired by the work of Virginia Axline, uses play and creative activities as a means of communication, helping young clients explore and express emotions that may be difficult to verbalise.
Adult programmes
For adults, Leeds Therapy Hub provides a variety of peer support and therapeutic courses designed by individuals with lived experience of mental health issues. These programmes aim to equip participants with practical skills for managing their mental health. The available courses include:
- Neuro-Art Group: An eight-week creative programme using art to help adults regulate their nervous system and reduce stress or burnout.
- Calm Within: An eight-week support group for parents and carers focusing on emotional resilience, boundary-setting, and coping with daily challenges.
- Finding Me Again: A six-week domestic abuse recovery course that combines trauma-informed practice with creative, non-verbal methods to help survivors rebuild self-trust.
- Creative Calm: A six-week community group using mindfulness-based art techniques to ease physical tension and support emotional balance.
- Six-Week Wellness Re-set: A holistic programme incorporating breathwork, body awareness, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) tools, and energy practices for adults dealing with chronic illness, grief, stress, or PTSD.
Funding and accessibility
Leeds Therapy Hub is able to offer free and subsidised sessions to individuals and families experiencing severe financial hardship, thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund (Awards for All). Eligibility criteria apply to ensure support reaches those most in need.
Collaboration with local organisations
The organisation is actively seeking to collaborate with other community groups, local services, and organisations to extend the reach of its mental health and healing programmes. Interested parties are encouraged to make contact via email at leedstherapyhubcic@gmail.com for further discussion.
