New Fund Supports Children and Young People in Bradford
June 8, 2026Driving Brighter Futures Fund now open for applications
A new funding opportunity has been launched to support projects aimed at improving the wellbeing of children, young people, and their families in Bradford. The Driving Brighter Futures Fund is a joint initiative between JCT600 and GiveBradford, designed to back organisations delivering trusted support within the local community.
Purpose and eligibility
The fund focuses on initiatives that enhance both mental and physical health and help young people reach their potential. It particularly encourages applications from or benefiting groups under-represented in grant making, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, racially minoritised communities, and d/Deaf or disabled people.
To be eligible, organisations must:
- Be based in Bradford with a registered address in the city
- Demonstrate a strong track record and connection with Bradford communities
- Have an income below £750,000 in the most recent financial year
- Submit only one application per organisation
Examples of fundable activities
The fund supports a wide range of projects. Examples provided include:
- Creating and delivering tailored training and materials to empower students to support peers on mental health issues in schools, colleges, or universities
- Running weekly drop-in sessions for young mothers and their children, focusing on addressing risk factors common among single mothers, especially from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds
- Providing physical and sporting activities combined with mentoring for young people aged 8 to 25, referred from local organisations such as schools and colleges
These examples are indicative, and the fund welcomes a broad range of project ideas that meet its criteria.
