Leeds is preparing to host an interactive version of the classic board game Trivial Pursuit this summer, as part of the city’s 400-year anniversary celebrations since being granted its royal charter. The event will take place from 25 July to 30 August 2026, transforming the city centre into a live game board featuring questions across six categories.

Participants will be invited to explore Leeds city centre, answering questions and collecting wedges in the traditional Trivial Pursuit categories:

The event is designed to be inclusive, with both classic and junior questions available, catering to a wide range of ages. It aims to engage residents and visitors alike in learning about Leeds’ history and culture through a series of themed questions.
Local Figures Involved
Several notable individuals connected to Leeds are participating by sharing stories and posing questions. Leeds-born presenter Alex Zane will contribute by highlighting key moments and personalities that have shaped the city. Other contributors appearing virtually include actor Angela Griffin, comedian Jim Moir, Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey, and Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald.
Prizes and Offers
Players have the opportunity to win a £500 travel voucher from Hays Travel, along with weekly prize bundles. These bundles include experiences and offers from local venues such as Everyman Cinema, Leeds Playhouse, The Met Hotel, and Tenpin.

The event is organised by LeedsBID in partnership with Hasbro, the company behind the Trivial Pursuit brand. This follows a previous collaboration in 2024 when Leeds hosted a city-wide Monopoly event.
