Emmerdale star Amelia Flanagan becomes a Forget Me Not charity ambassador!
June 23, 2026
Actress Amelia Flanagan, best known for her role as April Windsor in Emmerdale, has become a charity ambassador for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. Winner of Best Young Performer at the 2025 British Soap Awards, Amelia will help shine a light on the work of the children’s hospice, supporting fundraising campaigns and helping the charity to reach new audiences.
Born in Leeds, and raised in Halifax, Amelia, 18, has played April Windsor in Emmerdale since 2014, making her debut at the tender age of 6.
She visited the charity’s purpose build children’s hospice, Russell House in April 2026, seeing and hearing about the work Forget Me Not does, both within local communities and across the region as a whole.
Amelia joins a select group of highly valued supporters of the charity, including fellow actors Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker and Happy Valley’s Rhys Connah, Paralympic gold medallist Hannah Cockroft, goalkeeping penalty saving expert Mark Crossley, Rugby League legends Eorl Crabtree and Michael Lawrence and BTCC driver Dan Lloyd.
Amelia said: “I’m really excited to become an ambassador for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. The work they do is so important and I am looking forward to helping them spread awareness of the specialist care they provide for children and families in West Yorkshire.”
Forget Me Not CEO Gareth Pierce said,
“We’re very proud to welcome Amelia on board as our latest ambassador and look forward to welcoming her to Russell House, where it’s fair to say she can enjoy a quieter time than her character in Emmerdale!”
“We couldn’t be happier that she’s agreed to use her platform to help us continue making a difference. Having a rising star like Amelia adding her support is a great boost to our team and the Emmerdale connection is of huge value to us, across the region, but especially in Leeds, where we’ve just opened our first charity shop. I’m sure she’ll help us reach new audiences and connect with other young people. We look forward to seeing what magic Amelia will bring to our charity!”
