Live music events set to enliven city centre from June 26

A prominent outdoor stage has been erected on Millennium Square in Leeds as preparations are underway for the return of the Summer Series, a live music event running from June 26 to July 11, 2026. The series will feature a variety of performances, ranging from emerging artists to internationally recognised acts, hosted against the backdrop of Leeds Civic Hall.

Opening Weekend Highlights

  • Friday, June 26: The festival opens with Club Classical Ibiza, combining dance music classics with live orchestral arrangements. The event is curated by Utah Saints and performed alongside the Orchestra of Opera North and special guests.
  • Saturday, June 27: The Orchestra of Opera North continues with 80s Classical, featuring performances of iconic hits by Bananarama, Nik Kershaw, Johnny Hates Jazz, and Nick Heyward.
  • Sunday, June 28: Classics in the Square offers a pay-what-you-can event with classical music selections including themes from Jurassic Park, Star Wars, The Sound of Music, and Carmen.

Sounds of the City Concert Series

Following the opening weekend, Millennium Square will host the ‘Sounds Of The City’ concert series, showcasing a range of artists across various genres such as indie, alternative, country, pop, orchestral, and dance. Notable performers include Dylan Gossett, Alabama Shakes, Tom Odell, Wet Leg, The Human League, and The Cribs, each accompanied by special guests.
