Fundraising Success Brings Specialist MND Centre Closer to Reality

Leeds Hospitals Charity has confirmed that it has reached its fundraising target of £6.8 million to establish the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The centre is planned to open at Leeds Teaching Hospitals’ Seacroft site in November 2025.

Details of the Fundraising Campaign

The fundraising campaign attracted support from over 17,000 donors. The centre is named after Rob Burrow, a former professional rugby league player who was diagnosed with MND. Despite his own battle with the disease, Burrow was dedicated to raising awareness and funds to improve care and support for people living with MND and their families.

Purpose and Facilities of the New Centre

The Rob Burrow Centre aims to provide specialist care and support for those affected by MND. It will be equipped with the latest technology and will support innovative research into the disease. The centre is intended to offer comprehensive services to improve the quality of life for patients and their loved ones.
