Baby Week Returns to Leeds with Events for Families and Professionals

Leeds to host a week of activities promoting early childhood health

Baby Week is set to return to Leeds from 14 to 20 November 2025, marking its tenth year in the city. The event, themed “Healthy Parent, Healthy Baby,” aims to bring together local services and sectors to promote early childhood development and support Leeds’ ambition as a Child Friendly City. A variety of free and low-cost activities will be available for parents, carers, professionals, and children under five across the city.

Key events during Baby Week

  • Tuesday 18 November – Baby & Toddler Takeover at Thackray Museum of Medicine
    This family-friendly event will run from 10am to 3pm and is designed to bring the theme “Healthy Parent, Healthy Baby” to life. The museum will be open to expectant parents, parents, and carers with children under five. Entry to the event is free.
  • Wednesday 19 November – Introduction to Baby First Aid (Online)
    A national online session will take place from 5.30pm to 6pm, aimed at parents, carers, professionals, and students across the UK. The session will provide an introduction to first aid for babies, aiming to increase confidence in handling emergencies.
  • Thursday 20 November – Free Baby Week Conference in Leeds
    Hosted by Child Friendly Leeds on World Children’s Day, this national conference is free to attend and targeted at professionals working in health, wellbeing, early years, and related sectors. The event will feature local and national speakers discussing best practices and workforce development.

Additional activities throughout the week

Leeds Children’s Centres, Family Hubs, and Libraries will offer over 50 sessions during Baby Week. These sessions cater to families and young children and require booking in advance.

Active Leeds, which manages the city’s leisure centres, will provide more than 25 sessions for expectant parents, carers, and families with children under five. Most sessions will be free or cost 50p to attend.
