Grants Available for Social Change Ideas from Young People and Small Groups
November 11, 2025Funding to support innovative projects tackling social issues
A new funding opportunity is available for individuals, groups, and small organisations in the UK to develop ideas aimed at creating social change. Grants of up to £20,000 are being offered for projects lasting up to 18 months that propose bold and innovative approaches to addressing systemic issues in society.
Purpose and scope of the funding
The funding is intended to support ideas with a clear charitable purpose that challenge injustice and aim to transform root causes of systemic oppression. Projects can operate at either a local or national level. The fund prioritises ideas that are still in the early stages of development and require experimentation and learning to progress.
Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate how their ideas have long-term potential to create positive social impact. The funding can be used for a variety of activities including:
- Research to develop the idea
- Gathering evidence to support campaigns
- Bringing communities together to build collective power
- Paying individuals involved in delivering these activities
Who can apply?
Applications are open to:
- Individuals
- Groups or collectives working together (registration as an organisation is not required)
- Organisations of any legal structure with an annual turnover under £150,000
While priority is given to applicants aged 18 to 30, those aged over 30 will also be considered.
