Leeds City Council Offers Free Health Protection Training in 2026

Opportunities for Local Workers to Enhance Public Health Knowledge

Leeds City Council’s Health Protection Team is providing free training sessions throughout 2026 aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of health protection topics among local workers. These sessions are designed to offer practical knowledge relevant to various public health challenges.

Details of the Training Sessions

The training will take place at the Technorth Learning Centre, located at 9 Harrogate Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS7 3NB. Each session is scheduled from 10am to 12pm on the following dates:

  • 27th January 2026
  • 19th February 2026
  • 24th March 2026
  • 23rd April 2026

Sessions last two hours and include breaks and interactive activities. The Health Protection Team can tailor the content to focus on topics most relevant to the participants’ services and workforce.

Training Content

The programme provides an introduction to public health and health inequalities. It covers a range of topics including:

  • Vaccinations
  • Air quality
  • Adverse weather conditions
  • Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
  • Sepsis
  • Tuberculosis (TB)

The sessions are intended to create a safe and inclusive environment where participants can share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore solutions to applying these topics in their day-to-day roles.
