Opportunity to represent everyday travel across Leeds

Leeds City Council is inviting volunteers to participate in a photography project aimed at showcasing everyday travel in the city. The council is particularly encouraging people from ethnically diverse communities to take part in the initiative.

Project details

The photographs will feature residents engaging in typical travel activities such as walking, wheeling, cycling, and using public transport. These images are intended for use across various council platforms including websites, social media channels, newsletters, and printed materials.

No prior modelling experience is necessary, as the council seeks authentic depictions of daily journeys made by real people.

Locations and activities

The photo shoots are scheduled to take place in July, although exact dates have yet to be confirmed. Locations will include Leeds city centre as well as surrounding areas such as Otley and Armley.

Potential activities to be photographed include:

  • Walking or wheeling to school
  • Cycling on local routes
  • Using LNER Beryl bikes
  • Waiting for the bus
  • Other forms of everyday travel

How to get involved

Individuals interested in volunteering or seeking further information are encouraged to contact Sophie Oldham-Davison at Leeds City Council via email: sophie.oldhamdavison@leeds.gov.uk.

This project aims to provide a realistic portrayal of travel habits across Leeds, reflecting the diversity of its residents and promoting sustainable transport options.
