Funded activities
The funding will support a variety of initiatives over a two-year period, including:
- Weekly music sessions for young care leavers to express themselves in a safe, informal, but structured environment.
- Support for care-experienced girls and young women who are pregnant or parenting, helping them prepare for birth, advocate for their rights, and work towards breaking the intergenerational cycle of children entering care.
- 12-week mental health and wellbeing programmes providing targeted and preventative support for looked after children, young people in care, and care leavers.
The Leeds Community Foundation will monitor the progress of these projects and share updates on their success as they continue.
