Leeds Hosts Meeting on Prison Employment and Training

A meeting focusing on employment, education, and training opportunities for people in prison and those recently released is scheduled to take place in Leeds on Thursday 24 June. The event will be held in person at the Jamyang Buddhist Centre, located at Clyde Works, Ingram Road, Leeds LS11 9RQ, from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
Speakers from prison services and training providers
Among the speakers is Stephen Shackleton, Employment Learning and Skills Manager at HM Prison Service. He will discuss the New Futures Network, an initiative aimed at encouraging and supporting employers to engage with prisons across England and Wales.

- Charlotte Berry, Prison Employment Lead at HMP Wealstun
Event aims and participation
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts within the Leeds Crime Reduction Network to improve employment and training pathways for individuals in the criminal justice system. It provides an opportunity for organisations and individuals involved in rehabilitation and resettlement to share information and collaborate.
