March 13, 2026 Off By

Students at the University of Leeds are invited to participate in the upcoming LeadLUU elections

Students at the University of Leeds are set to take part in the LeadLUU elections, which will determine the student representatives for Leeds University Union (LUU). Voting will be open from 16 to 18 March, with results announced on 19 March. The election process offers both online and in-person voting options to accommodate all eligible students.

Who is eligible to vote?

All current University of Leeds students who are members of Leeds University Union are eligible to vote in the LeadLUU elections. Membership is typically confirmed during university registration. Students unsure of their eligibility or membership status are encouraged to contact the Union’s Democracy and Campaigns team for assistance.

How to vote

Voting can be completed online via the Engage website or in person at the LeadLUU Hub located on campus. Both methods require voters to rank candidates in order of preference, from most to least favourable. Voters also have the option to select “Re-Open Nominations” (RON) if they do not support any of the candidates. Should RON receive the majority of votes, a second election will be called.

  • Online voting: Accessible through the Engage website, allowing students to vote at their convenience.
  • In-person voting: Available at the LeadLUU Hub, where students can review candidate statements and posters. Complimentary refreshments are provided during in-person voting.

Additional information

Voting closes at 4pm on 18 March. The Union encourages students to participate actively in the election process to help shape the future of student leadership at Leeds. Voters will also be entered into a prize draw with incentives exceeding £2,500, including items such as a MacBook, iPads, and a Nintendo Switch.

For further details or to raise any concerns, students can access a complaints form or contact the Union directly through their official communication channels.
