Students invited to shape Union strategy through new survey

Leeds University Union (LUU) has launched a survey aimed at gathering student feedback to inform the development of its strategy through to 2030. The Union, which supports students in various aspects of university life, is encouraging students to spend a few minutes completing the survey to help shape future services and initiatives.

Supporting student life in multiple ways

The Union provides a range of services and activities designed to enhance the student experience at Leeds University. These include:

  • Support for clubs and societies
  • Advice and wellbeing services to assist students with challenges
  • Representation of student interests across university matters
  • Mental health support
  • Employment opportunities for students
  • Safety initiatives such as the Nightbus service
  • Organisation of social events, including regular nights, Varsity, and the summer ball

Survey aims and participation

The survey is designed to understand what aspects of the Union’s work are successful, identify areas for improvement, and explore new ideas that could benefit students. By participating, students can influence how the Union allocates resources and prioritises its activities to better meet their needs and ambitions.

Students are asked to consider questions such as:

  • What is currently working well?
  • What could be improved?
  • What new initiatives should the Union consider?

Incentives for completing the survey

To encourage participation, the Union is offering a prize draw with rewards valued at approximately £4,000. Prizes include a MacBook Air, an iPad, Spotify Premium subscriptions, VIP event tickets, vouchers for campus eateries, and other experiences. Additionally, there will be opportunities for instant wins at pop-up stands around campus.

Students interested in contributing to the future direction of the Union can access the survey and find further information through the Leeds University Union website.
