New grants aim to promote equality and inclusion locally

Leeds Community Foundation has awarded over £30,000 in funding to 16 community organisations across Leeds through the Community Action Microgrants programme. This initiative was set up in memory of Louie Ward Herbert, a community organiser and activist, by his parents Mick Ward and Gill Crawshaw. The programme is designed to support citizen-led projects that foster community development and cohesion.

Focus on equality, inclusion and poverty reduction

The organisations receiving grants will use the funds to promote equality and inclusion, provide direct support to disadvantaged groups, work towards reducing poverty, and strengthen neighbourhood connections. The projects vary widely, reflecting the diverse needs of Leeds communities.
