Community Team Takes on 18-Mile Challenge to Raise Funds

Members of the Lowell team took part in the recent Great Leeds Walk, an 18-mile route across the city, to raise funds for Leeds Children’s Charity. The event saw team member Vicky Denton and colleagues come together to support children in Leeds by helping to provide opportunities and experiences for those who might otherwise miss out.

Team Effort and Challenge

Vicky Denton undertook the demanding 18-mile walk, which tested her endurance and determination. The challenge was not only a physical one but also an opportunity for the team to spend time together outside the workplace while contributing to a local cause.

Reflecting on the experience, Vicky said the walk was tough but rewarding, with the knowledge that their efforts would benefit children across Leeds making the challenge worthwhile.

Impact on Children in Leeds

Leeds Children’s Charity focuses on providing children with positive experiences that help build confidence and create lasting memories, regardless of their background or circumstances. Support from corporate partners like Lowell enables the charity to offer activities such as residential stays at Lineham Farm and outdoor adventures.

The funds raised by Lowell’s participation in the Great Leeds Walk will contribute to these initiatives, helping disadvantaged children access opportunities they might otherwise miss.

Charity Response

Lisa Williams, Head of Fundraising at Leeds Children’s Charity, expressed gratitude for Lowell’s involvement. She highlighted the importance of such partnerships in enabling the charity to provide valuable experiences for children in need across the city.
