May 22, 2026Colin’s journey with Purple Patch Arts
Colin, a long-time participant at Purple Patch Arts, has shared his experiences of creativity, friendship, and personal milestones. Purple Patch Arts is an organisation that supports people with learning disabilities, providing opportunities for self-expression and community engagement.
Creative expression and personal achievements
Colin enjoys various artistic activities, particularly drawing. He described some of his artwork, including a boat on a river heading towards a pot of gold, as well as drawings of flowers and a colourful dog. His involvement in the arts is part of a broader support system that helps him thrive.
Personal life and future plans
Colin is a fan of Leeds United and Leeds Rhinos, often watching matches on television with his fiancée, Ella. The couple became engaged on Valentine’s Day and are planning to marry. Colin shared that he was involved in an accident at the age of six, which left him with a scar. He expressed gratitude for having survived the incident.
Currently, Colin lives independently in his own bungalow and has his own car. He plans to learn to drive soon, which will allow him to take Ella wherever she wishes to go.
