Lunar New Year Celebrations Planned Across Leeds

Leeds is set to host a variety of events to mark the Lunar New Year, offering opportunities for residents and visitors to engage with traditional and contemporary celebrations. The festivities will take place at several locations across the city throughout February 2026.
Key events and locations
- Merrion Centre (14th – 21st February): The shopping centre will feature traditional dance, music, and family activities to celebrate the Year of the Horse. These events are free to attend.
- Corn Exchange (13th – 15th February): Following the previous MoonFest, Oh! Moru Garden will host a Love & Luck Fest. The event includes creative workshops, interactive experiences, and independent stalls with themes related to Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day.
- Abbey House Museum (14th – 22nd February): The museum’s Victorian streets will be decorated with symbols such as horses, lanterns, and dragons. Visitors can explore the displays and search for hidden decorations during the half-term holiday.
- Temple Newsam (21st February): Leeds Chinese Community School will organise a day of free workshops, live performances, and cultural activities at Temple Newsam House, which is known for its collection of fine and decorative arts.
- SingKee Supermarket and Oriental City Restaurant (17th February): A Lion Dance performance will begin at noon at SingKee Supermarket (LS7 1BA) and proceed to the Oriental City Restaurant, where further celebrations will take place.
