New Community Grants to Support Leeds Neighbourhoods
March 17, 2026Leeds to welcome two new ABCD Pathfinder sites
Leeds is set to introduce two new Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) Pathfinder sites later this year, with shortlisted areas including Little London, Hyde Park, and Chapeltown. This initiative builds on the city’s ongoing investment in the ABCD model since 2013, which focuses on community-led action to improve local wellbeing and social cohesion.
Background and impact of ABCD in Leeds
The ABCD Pathfinder model in Leeds involves providing small, trust-based funding to local neighbourhood groups. A recent review of the sixth year of the ABCD Pathfinder programme highlighted significant positive outcomes for residents involved in these areas. The model has acted as a catalyst for improving health and wellbeing, strengthening social action, and unlocking community assets.
This approach aligns with Leeds’ broader ambitions to foster thriving and strong communities across the city.
