New Gambling Harms Prevention Levy Funding Announced

The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) has announced a new funding opportunity through the Gambling Harms Prevention Levy for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in England. This funding will be available from April 2026 following the closure of Gamble Aware, with grants ranging from £5,000 to £3 million.
Application process and deadlines
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are currently open, with a deadline of 9 January 2026. While submitting an EOI is not mandatory to apply, organisations are encouraged to do so if they intend to submit a full application. The full application window will open on 12 January 2026, followed by a one-month clarification period for applicants to address any queries.
Leeds City Council online information session
To assist organisations planning to deliver projects in Leeds, Leeds City Council’s Financial Inclusion, Public Health and Licensing Teams will hold a short online session outlining the local approach to gambling-related harms. The session aims to help potential applicants align their proposals with existing strategies in Leeds.

A Teams invitation will be sent to those who book. The presentation will be recorded and made available afterwards for those unable to attend. There will be a live question and answer session during the event, which will not be recorded. Due to limited time, questions submitted in advance to the same email address by midday on 12 January will be prioritised.
It should be noted that the session will not cover detailed information about the fund or the application process itself, as this information is currently limited.
