Over 100 Corsets Revived in Sustainable Fashion Exhibition
February 13, 2026Exhibition showcases creative reuse of historic garments
A new exhibition at Leeds Beckett University is highlighting sustainable fashion through the revival of over 100 corsets rescued from landfill. The Corset Revival Project, presented by Circular Fashion Incubator and Leeds Beckett University, features works by artists from across the UK, Ireland, Eastern Europe, the USA, and Pakistan, who have transformed discarded corsets into contemporary designs using reclaimed and surplus materials.
The Corset Revival Project
The project is part of the International Circular Fashion Week Conference and takes place at the university’s Knowledge Exchange, Rose Bowl, on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th March. It aims to raise awareness of the environmental impact of fast fashion and garment waste, demonstrating how circular practices can give new life to old clothing.
Each designer involved was selected for their distinctive style and creative approach, resulting in a collection that explores individuality while emphasising sustainability. The exhibition includes a fashion show and a silent auction, with proceeds supporting St Gemma’s Hospice.
