Ten Apprentices Awarded ICE Civil Engineering Scholarships

Local apprentices recognised for achievements in civil engineering

Ten apprentices from Leeds College of Building (LCB) have received the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Quest Technician Scholarship, a notable award supporting young people pursuing careers in civil engineering. Each scholarship includes £1,000 in financial support and is awarded to high calibre students studying civil engineering qualifications.

Details of the Scholarship and Recipients

The ICE Queen’s Jubilee Scholarship Trust (Quest) was established to encourage and support young talent entering the civil engineering profession. This year, LCB apprentices from a variety of employers were among the recipients, reflecting the college’s ongoing success in developing skilled professionals in the sector.

College Response and Future Recognition

Vicky Patterson, Curriculum Manager for Technical and Professional Apprenticeships at LCB, expressed satisfaction with the number of apprentices recognised this year. She noted that having ten scholarship recipients is the highest in recent years and highlighted it as an endorsement of the college’s teaching quality and support for apprentices.

All scholarship winners will be presented with trophies at the upcoming BIG Awards ceremony scheduled for September.
