
Wade’s Charity Offers Small Grants for Leeds Community Groups
October 17, 2025Funding available to support social and recreational activities across Leeds
Wade’s Charity is providing grants of up to £500 to small community groups in Leeds to support social and recreational opportunities or the preservation of public open spaces. The grants are administered by Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) and are aimed at groups operating within the pre-1974 Leeds City boundaries.
Eligibility and criteria
To qualify for a grant, groups must meet the following conditions:
- Operate within the LS1 to LS17 postcode areas of Leeds
- Provide social or recreational activities or support the use or preservation of public open spaces
- Have an annual income of less than £20,000
Applicants are advised to carefully review the full grant criteria before applying to ensure eligibility.
Application process
Applications must include:
- A completed application form (both sides)
- A copy of the latest bank statement dated within the last three months
- Signed annual accounts or, for new organisations without accounts, a budget or cashflow forecast

Organisations are encouraged to apply well in advance of when funding is needed due to the application and decision-making process.

There are four application deadlines throughout 2026:
- 31 March 2026
- 30 June 2026
- 30 September 2026
- 31 December 2026
Applicants will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible after the deadlines.
