Defender to strengthen squad for remainder of the season

Guiseley AFC has confirmed the loan signing of centre back George Goodman from Bradford City until the end of the current season. The 21-year-old defender returns to action after recovering from injury and is expected to feature in the club’s remaining fixtures.

Player background and recent form

Goodman has been with Bradford City since his youth career, joining the club at under-9 level. Over recent seasons, he has been involved with Bradford’s first-team squad, gaining valuable experience. This season, he has made 11 appearances and scored a goal in Guiseley’s 4-2 victory over Ashton United in November 2025. He was also named Man of the Match in a 1-1 draw against Cleethorpes Town.

International experience

  • Represented Northern Ireland at under-19 level during the 2024 UEFA Under-19 European Championship, making three appearances.
  • Called up to Northern Ireland’s under-21 squad for UEFA U21 European Championship qualification matches against Malta and Germany earlier this season.

Goodman is now fit and available for selection as Guiseley prepare for the final nine matches of their league campaign. The fixture list includes the following games:

  • Home matches against Workington, Whitby Town, Hyde United, and FC United of Manchester
