Guiseley AFC Signs Goalkeeper Michael Roxburgh

New Addition to the Lions’ Squad for the 2026/27 Season

Guiseley AFC has confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Michael Roxburgh ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 23-year-old joins the club with experience across several teams and youth academies, bringing depth to the Lions’ squad.

Player Background and Career

Michael Roxburgh is known to Guiseley’s manager Ian Richards, having previously worked together at Stocksbridge. Roxburgh spent part of last season at Stocksbridge before moving to Emley following the transfer of Declan Lambton to Matlock.

Roxburgh’s career includes time in the youth academies of Sunderland, Hartlepool United, and Huddersfield Town. During his time with Huddersfield Town, he went on loan to several clubs, including:

• Brighouse Town
• Marske United
• AFC Fylde
• Liversedge

After being released by Huddersfield, Roxburgh returned to Stocksbridge as a young player. He later attracted interest from Spennymoor Town, where he played during the 2023/24 season. At the start of the 2024/25 season, he moved to Emley before joining Sheffield FC in December 2024, where he finished the campaign.
