Guiseley AFC to Host Junior Football Tournament in April

Local youth teams to compete at Nethermoor Park over two days

Guiseley AFC has announced the inaugural Spring Junior Football Tournament, scheduled for Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April 2026. The event will take place at Nethermoor Park, Otley Road, Guiseley, and will feature boys’ teams across various age groups competing in a series of matches over the weekend.

Tournament Schedule and Age Groups

• Saturday 25th April: Under-8 and Under-9 boys starting at 10am, followed by Under-10 and Under-11 boys at 1:30pm
• Sunday 26th April: Under-12 and Under-13 boys starting at 10am, followed by Under-14 and Under-15 boys at 1:30pm

The tournament will be played in six-a-side format, with a maximum squad size of 10 players per team. Players are permitted to play for only one team within their age group. Age groupings correspond to the current 2025/26 season.

Competition Format and Awards

The competition will begin with a group stage, followed by two knockout rounds for each age group. The knockout stages will be divided into two competitions: one for teams finishing first and second in their groups, and another for those finishing third and fourth. Medals will be awarded to all finalists, with trophies presented to the winners.

Entry Details and Facilities

• Entry fee: £50 per team
• Adult spectator entry: £2 per person
• Food and drink will be available throughout the event
• Sheltered standing and seating will be provided in the spectator stands
• Parking is free but limited; attendees are encouraged to use the car park at Netherfield Road or park considerately on nearby streets

Teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with the entry deadline set for Friday 27th March 2026. Confirmation of entry will be followed by payment details, with places held for five days pending payment before being released.

Additional Information

Guiseley AFC staff and coaches will be present throughout the tournament. Entrant lists, fixture schedules, and pitch allocations will be emailed to participating teams at least one week before the event. These communications will also include registration times and other relevant information.
