John Bridson Memorial Match Set for Nethermoor
April 22, 2026Community Event Scheduled for 3rd May at Guiseley AFC
Guiseley AFC will host the John Bridson Memorial Match on Sunday 3rd May 2026 at Nethermoor, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm. The event aims to raise funds to support improvements at the club’s facilities and commemorate the late John Bridson.
Background and Previous Fundraising
The inaugural John Bridson Memorial Match took place in April 2024, successfully raising over £4,500. These funds contributed to the installation of the ‘John Bridson Tunnel’, which has been in use since the 2024/25 season.
Objectives for the 2026 Match
This year, the club is seeking to fund the construction of programme and 50/50 ticket kiosks or booths at Nethermoor. These structures are intended to provide shelter for volunteers from adverse weather and create designated areas for sales during match days.
Support and Participation
- Player sponsors, event sponsors, and programme sponsors are being sought to support the match.
- Donations and sponsorships can be made online ahead of the event.
- For those unable to attend in person, virtual match tickets, digital programmes, and full match footage will be available for purchase.
Entry on the day will operate on a pay-what-you-want basis at the turnstiles. Additionally, a penalty shootout for younger supporters is planned to take place during half-time.
Additional Activities
- Food and drink will be available for purchase.
- A raffle will be held during the event.
- Match programmes will be sold as keepsakes.
