Lebrun Mbeka to Remain at Guiseley AFC for 2026/27

Guiseley AFC has confirmed that club captain Lebrun Mbeka will continue with the team for the 2026/27 season following the activation of an option in his contract. The 29-year-old defender, who has been a key figure in the squad, will remain at Nethermoor for his third consecutive campaign.
Player career and recent contributions
Mbeka has made a total of 141 appearances for Guiseley AFC across his three spells with the club, scoring 10 goals in all competitions. Since his return, he has featured in 88 matches over the past two seasons. His defensive contributions have been significant, helping the team keep 28 clean sheets during this period.
Mbeka first joined Guiseley in 2020 after impressing during a trial period. However, his initial season was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. He re-signed for the following season before briefly moving to Boston United. He then returned to Guiseley on loan during the 2022/23 season, adding 53 appearances and four goals during that time.
Early career and playing versatility
Before joining Guiseley, Mbeka began his career with Sheffield FC. He later played for Tadcaster Albion, which he joined in 2019, following his development at Ossett Albion and the merged Ossett United. Additionally, he had dual registrations with Goole and Parkgate.
Primarily a defender, Mbeka is also capable of playing in midfield positions. His performances earned him the Manager’s Player of the Season award for the 2024/25 campaign.
