Midfielder seeks match fitness following injury layoff

Guiseley AFC midfielder Sam Bentley has joined Northern Counties East Premier Division side Liversedge on a one-month loan deal. The move aims to help Bentley regain match fitness after he missed several months of the current campaign due to injury.

Player background and previous loans

Bentley, 21, progressed through the Bradford City academy before signing for Guiseley last season. During his time with Guiseley, he has had loan spells at Brighouse Town. Prior to that, while still with Bradford City, Bentley also spent time on loan at Ramsbottom United and Brighouse Town. He was named Bradford City’s Academy Player of the Season for the 2022/23 campaign.

Liversedge squad and upcoming fixtures

At Liversedge, Bentley will be working under manager Danny Forrest, a former Guiseley player and assistant manager. Liversedge currently top the Northern Counties East Premier Division and include several former Guiseley players in their squad, such as Ross Daly, Kyle Trenerry, Jack Stockdill, and Lewis Gardner.

During his loan spell, Bentley could feature in up to seven matches for Liversedge at their Clayborn ground. Upcoming fixtures include games against:

  • Albion Sports
  • Sheffield FC
  • Pickering Town
  • Frickley Athletic
  • Beverley Town
  • Parkgate
  • Golcar United

Positional versatility

Primarily a midfielder, Bentley is also capable of playing in defensive positions, offering flexibility to his temporary club during his loan period.
