Leeds Hospitals Charity has announced a new round of funding opportunities for hospital staff across its network, aiming to support small projects that enhance the experience of patients, families, and staff. Since April 2021, the charity has provided £28 million in additional funding to bring various ideas to fruition.
Funding Details and Eligibility
The upcoming funding call, titled Moments That Matter 2026/27, will open for applications from 27 April 2026. It is open to all staff members working in any of the hospitals within the Leeds Hospitals network.
The funding is intended to support small-scale projects with grants ranging from £75 to £2,500. Projects should focus on improving the experience of care or the working environment by creating moments of comfort, dignity, calm, connection, or joy. The charity is particularly interested in simple yet impactful ideas that can be implemented quickly.
Examples of Supported Projects
- Comfort packs for patients
- Toys and sensory items for patient engagement
- Resources that promote compassionate and person-centred care
The charity emphasises that the projects should make a noticeable difference to those involved, whether patients, their families, or staff members.
Application Process
Staff interested in applying for funding should prepare proposals that align with the goals of the Moments That Matter initiative. Further details on how to apply and deadlines are expected to be provided by the charity around the opening date.
This funding initiative forms part of Leeds Hospitals Charity’s ongoing commitment to supporting healthcare staff and improving patient care through additional resources and project funding.
