Guiseley AFC Provides Season and Stadium Update
May 28, 2026Board of Directors Reflect on Season and Outline Future Plans
Guiseley AFC’s Board of Directors has issued an update covering the recent season, stadium infrastructure projects, financial status, and preparations for the 2026/27 campaign. The club acknowledged the challenges faced on the pitch and expressed gratitude to supporters for their continued loyalty.
4G Pitch Installation Deferred
The club confirmed that the planned installation of a new 4G pitch at Nethermoor has been postponed until the close season of 2027. While full planning permission and funding are secured and ring-fenced, external factors have caused delays. These include supply and pricing concerns linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, as well as difficulties obtaining final permits from Leeds City Council.
Guiseley AFC emphasised that contingency ground-share agreements were in place to mitigate risks, but the club decided against starting the upcoming season away from Nethermoor due to circumstances beyond their control. In the meantime, resources have been allocated to maintain the existing grass pitch to the best possible standard for the forthcoming season.
Stadium Improvements to Continue
Despite the pitch delay, several stadium upgrades are progressing this summer:
- Fan Zone and Matchday Experience: Plans for a new fan zone remain underway, supported by fundraising efforts from the Supporters’ Club and wider fanbase. The club also highlighted the success of last season’s new catering outlet.
- New Digital Scoreboard: A new scoreboard is set to be ordered imminently, with an expected delivery time of 8 to 10 weeks. Installation is targeted for September or October. The existing scoreboard was deemed beyond repair due to weather damage and obsolete parts.
- Essential Upkeep: Investment will be made in behind-the-scenes infrastructure, including new changing room showers, replacement of old doors, and completion of perimeter fencing upgrades to improve ground security.
Season Tickets and Pricing
Season ticket prices will see an increase for 2026/27 after being frozen for two years. The early bird adult season ticket is priced at £200, with the standard full price set at £250. The club noted that this remains one of the lowest prices in their league, with only four clubs offering cheaper tickets and others charging up to £270.
Supporters are encouraged to take advantage of the early bird offer, which historically attracts 99% of season ticket holders. Full details on purchasing season tickets are available through the club’s official channels.
Football Operations and Squad Development
Preparations for the new season are underway, with the management team focusing on assembling a competitive squad. The core of the current playing staff has already signed contracts for the upcoming campaign, with the full retained list expected to be announced shortly.
Several new signings have been secured, with official announcements planned throughout June once contracts are registered with the Football Association. The club is also finalising a rigorous pre-season fixture schedule, with details to be confirmed in due course.
Looking Ahead
Guiseley AFC enters the close season with financial stability, ongoing stadium improvements, and a clear strategy for the squad. The Board of Directors expressed commitment to learning from the past year and building a foundation for the club to compete effectively in the future.
