Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund Hosts Online Information Session

The Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund is holding an online information session on Tuesday 9 June 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon via Zoom. The event aims to provide voluntary and community groups, charities, and partners with details about applying for grants to support community safety initiatives.
Details of the Fund
The Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund offers grants of up to £10,000 to organisations working on innovative projects that contribute to community safety. Funding applications must align with the priorities set out in the 2024-2028 Police and Crime Plan for West Yorkshire, which include:
- Supporting Victims and Witnesses
- Keeping People Safe
- Safer Places and Thriving Communities
Applicants are encouraged to review the Police and Crime Plan published by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to ensure their projects meet the required themes.
Application Deadlines and Award Dates
The current funding round (Round 10) opened on 1 June 2026 and will close at midday on 3 July 2026. An awards evening for successful applicants is scheduled for 8 October 2026.
A subsequent funding round (Round 11) will open on 9 November 2026 and close at midday on 11 December 2026, with awards announced on 8 April 2027.
