Career Overview
During his first period with Guiseley, Martin made a notable impact by scoring 17 goals in 23 appearances. His performances attracted interest from higher leagues, leading to a transfer to Harrogate Town for an undisclosed five-figure fee. He was part of the Harrogate squad that secured promotion to League Two at the end of the 2019/20 season, a campaign extended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Martin’s football journey began in youth academies, having been with Sheffield United from the age of eight and later joining Barnsley’s academy before returning to Sheffield United. At 17, he moved into senior football with Staveley MW, followed by spells at Worksop Parramore and Goole AFC. He then spent five years with Sheffield FC prior to joining Brighouse Town, where he scored 30 goals in 42 appearances and earned several club awards, including Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer.
