May 14, 2026Family run supports expansion of advanced radiotherapy technology
The Enever family from Leeds are participating together in the Leeds 10k event to raise funds for the Leeds Cancer Appeal. Their efforts will contribute to the expansion of Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) at Leeds Cancer Centre, a technology aimed at improving cancer treatment.
Family background in running and healthcare
Peter Enever, Head of Radiotherapy at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, has a long history of running, having completed the London Marathon at the age of 19. In recent years, he has resumed running through charity events such as the Leeds Half Marathon and has taken part in various endurance challenges including ultramarathons, triathlons, and a 70.3 Ironman. His family has gradually become involved in running activities alongside him.
Peter’s daughters, Molly (18) and Tilly (15), have been active in running from a young age, participating in junior and regular parkrun events. Molly completed the Leeds Half Marathon at 17, demonstrating the family’s commitment to the sport. Caroline, the family’s other member, also supports their activities.
Supporting cancer care through fundraising
The family’s fundraising efforts are directed towards supporting the Leeds Cancer Appeal, which is focused on enhancing cancer treatment facilities. The funds will assist in the expansion of Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) at Leeds Cancer Centre. SGRT is a cutting-edge technology designed to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of radiotherapy for cancer patients.
This marks the first occasion the entire Enever family has taken on a fundraising challenge together, highlighting their collective commitment to supporting healthcare advancements in their local community.
