The Leeds Hospitals Memorial Walk is set to take place on Saturday 14 March 2026, offering participants the chance to walk in memory of loved ones along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. The event will start at Kirkstall Forge, with arrivals from 9:30am and the walk commencing at 11am.
Event details and participation
Participants can choose between two walking distances: a 4-mile or a 10-mile route. The event is open to all, including wheelchair users and families, making it accessible to a wide range of people.

- Date and time: Saturday 14 March 2026, starting at 11am (arrivals from 9:30am)
- Distances: 4 miles or 10 miles along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal
- Accessibility: Open to wheelchair users and families
Entry fees and inclusions
Entry fees for the walk are as follows:
- Adults: £10
- Under 16s: £5
- Family of four: £25
- Under 6s: Free
Tickets include a complimentary bacon or egg sandwich at Butlers Café. Participants will also receive a medal upon completing the walk.
Purpose of the walk
The walk serves as a way for people to celebrate and remember loved ones, with each step acting as a tribute and a show of support for others taking part. The event also aims to contribute towards improving services for patients, staff, and families at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
