Leeds Students Receive GCSE Results Across the City
August 20, 2026Thousands of pupils find out their grades for 2026 exams
Today, approximately 10,000 students across Leeds are receiving their GCSE and equivalent level two qualification results. These include GCSEs, BTECs, and other vocational and technical awards, marking a significant milestone as young people prepare to move on to further education or training.
Council response and support for students
Councillor Helen Hayden, Leeds City Council’s executive member for children and families, acknowledged the hard work involved in achieving these results and extended congratulations to all students. She also recognised the important role played by families, schools, colleges, and other learning settings in supporting pupils throughout their education.
Special mention was made of children in care receiving results today, with thanks given to social workers, fostering and kinship carers, designated teachers, and the Virtual School team for their ongoing support.
Councillor Hayden emphasised the availability of advice and guidance for students still considering their future options, encouraging them to seek support from their schools and learning settings.
