Local Programme Supports Women Into Self-Employment

A programme running for six years in Leeds has supported over 300 women in starting businesses or moving into self-employment. The initiative, known as SheCanShine, focuses on helping women build confidence and develop realistic plans to become self-employed, with particular attention this year on women facing health issues who are currently out of work.
Programme details and application process
The SheCanShine programme differs from traditional business support by addressing the needs of the whole individual rather than focusing solely on business skills. It aims to empower women by combining personal development with practical guidance on self-employment.
Women interested in joining the programme can apply online. The application process is designed to take approximately 8 to 10 minutes. If accepted, participants can join a network of over 300 women entrepreneurs who have previously completed the course.
