Trivial Pursuit Leeds Launches for City’s 400-Year Celebration

Leeds is preparing to host a city-wide event based on the classic board game Trivial Pursuit, marking 400 years since the city was granted its royal charter. The event, named Trivial Pursuit Leeds, will take place from 25 July to 30 August 2026, transforming the city centre into an interactive game board.
Event Details and Participation
Participants will be invited to explore various locations around Leeds, answering questions and collecting wedges across six traditional Trivial Pursuit categories:
- Entertainment
- Geography
- Sports & Leisure
- Science and Nature
- History
- Art & Literature
The experience is designed to be family-friendly, featuring both classic and junior questions to engage visitors of all ages.
Local Figures Involved
Several individuals with connections to Leeds are contributing to the event. Leeds-born presenter Alex Zane will be involved in sharing stories related to the city’s history and culture. Other notable figures appearing virtually to pose special daily questions include:
- Actor Angela Griffin
- Comedian Jim Moir
- Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey
- Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald
Prizes and Offers
Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the event. The main prize is a £500 voucher from Hays Travel. Additionally, weekly prize bundles will be available, featuring experiences and offers from local venues such as Everyman Cinema, Leeds Playhouse, The Met Hotel, and Tenpin.

The event is organised by LeedsBID in partnership with Hasbro, the company behind Trivial Pursuit. This follows a previous collaboration for the Monopoly Leeds Takeover event in 2024.
