Former academy player returns to Nethermoor following time at Pontefract Collieries

Guiseley AFC have confirmed the return of winger Frankie Sinfield to the club, signing him from Pontefract Collieries ahead of the new season. Sinfield, 22, began his football journey at Guiseley’s academy before moving on to FC Halifax Town.

Career Path and Recent Performance

Frankie Sinfield started his youth career at Guiseley, spending three years in the club’s academy system. He later signed his first professional contract with FC Halifax Town in August 2023. During the 2023/24 season, Sinfield spent much of his time on loan at Pontefract Collieries, where he made a significant impact.

He made 38 appearances for Pontefract Collieries, scoring 16 goals as the team narrowly missed out on a play-off position. Sinfield also made 13 senior appearances for FC Halifax Town during this period. In the latter half of the 2024/25 season, he was loaned to Hyde United before being released by FC Halifax Town at the end of the campaign.

Following his release, Sinfield joined Pontefract Collieries on a permanent basis, where he continued to impress with his performances.

Guiseley Manager Comments

Ian Richards, Guiseley’s manager, described Sinfield as a player with “great quality and ability to create and score goals.” Richards noted that Sinfield’s familiarity with the club and proximity to the ground were positive factors in the signing. He also highlighted that Sinfield would provide additional balance on the left wing alongside Kyle White.
