New Signing Strengthens Defence Ahead of Morpeth Town Fixture

Guiseley AFC have announced the signing of Kyle White, a versatile left back who can also operate in midfield. White joins the club following an 18-month spell with Waterford in Ireland and is eligible to feature in the upcoming match against Morpeth Town.

Player Background and Career History

Kyle White was born in Burnley and began his football career with AFC Darwen’s youth team before moving to AFC Blackpool in 2021. During his time at AFC Blackpool, he played for both the youth and first teams. In January 2022, White signed for Fleetwood Town, where he initially played as a midfielder before transitioning to left back.

While at Fleetwood Town, White featured prominently in the club’s youth sides, including the Under-18s and Under-21s, impressing then first team manager Scott Brown. He made his professional debut in a League One match against Plymouth Argyle, which Fleetwood won 2-1. White also made league appearances against Bolton Wanderers and Ipswich Town during the 2022/23 season.

In addition to league matches, White appeared as a substitute in Carabao Cup fixtures against Everton and Wigan Athletic, as well as in the Vertu Motors Trophy against Barrow. In July 2024, he moved to Waterford, Fleetwood’s sister club in Ireland, having previously scored against them in a pre-season fixture.

Club Update: Player Departures

Guiseley AFC have also confirmed the departure of Liam Ridehalgh by mutual consent. Ridehalgh, a defender with previous experience at Bradford City, Huddersfield Town and Tranmere Rovers, has missed the entire current campaign due to injury. He also served as interim manager for a month in November 2025 before the appointment of Ian Richards.

Ridehalgh joined Guiseley in September 2024 and made 32 appearances last season. The club has expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him well in his recovery and future career.
