Experienced midfielder to continue with the Lions for 2026/27 campaign

Guiseley AFC has confirmed that Jack Emmett will remain with the club for the 2026/27 season, marking his third consecutive year with the Lions. The 32-year-old central midfielder has been a regular feature in the squad since joining in August 2024.

Playing history and recent form

Emmett initially returned to football with a brief spell at Knaresborough Town towards the end of the 2023/24 season before securing a trial and subsequent contract with Guiseley. Since then, he has made 77 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals. During the 2025/26 season alone, he featured 37 times.

Following the appointment of Ian Richards as manager in November, Emmett has been a consistent presence in the team, missing only three games and starting all but two matches under Richards’ management.

Career background and personal challenges

Prior to joining Guiseley, Emmett played in League Two and was notably a key player for Harrogate Town during their promotion to the English Football League in 2020. However, he was forced to take a break from football in January 2021 due to chronic fatigue, an illness that interrupted his playing career.

Academic achievements

Off the pitch, Emmett has pursued academic studies in psychology. He earned First Class Honours at Loughborough University and completed a Master’s degree at the University of Nottingham.

Looking ahead

Guiseley AFC is expected to announce further player retentions in the coming days as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season. The club’s next scheduled fixture is a pre-season friendly against Pontefract Collieries on 28 July 2026, kicking off at 7:30 pm.
