Leeds College of Building (LCB) has been awarded The Duchess of Gloucester Award for the Advancement of Skills within the Timber Industry. The accolade was presented at the National Association of Shopfitters (NAS) and Institute of Carpenters (IOC) Member’s Day, held recently at Carpenters’ Hall in London.
Recognition for sustained skills development
The Duchess of Gloucester Award acknowledges organisations and individuals who have consistently addressed skills needs in the timber sector, particularly during a period of high demand for skilled workers in construction. LCB was honoured for its ongoing commitment to advancing skills in this area.

- James Filus, Director of NAS and IOC, led a panel discussion before the awards presentation.
- Michael Martin and Adam Sharpe, curriculum managers from LCB’s Construction Crafts department, accepted the award on behalf of the college.
